Huckabee Says No To Senate Race

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee said Friday that he does not see himself entering the 2008 Senate race against incumbent Sen. Mark Pryor.  His decision, based largely on his dedication to his pipedream of becoming the next President, effectively takes this race off the board.  Look for an opportunist to take this opportunity to build name recognition for a future race somewhere down the line.  Republicans now have a maximum of four targets, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, and South Dakota, only two of which, Louisiana and South Dakota, are reasonably close at this point, assuming that the GOP recruits Gov. Rounds and a viable candidate in Louisiana.
