Enzi to Seek Third Term
Sen. Mike Enzi announced this morning that he will in fact seek a third term. Some thought he would retire in part because he was passed over for the Chairmanship of the Finance Committee not once but twice. Instead, it appears that he is quite happy working with new Sen. John Barrasso and would like to continue serving the people of Wyoming.
His decision effectively ends any hope that the Democrats had of taking over the seat. Gov. Dave Freudenthal, the only Democrat who could’ve given Enzi a run for his money, will not challenge the entrenched incumbent. This isn’t exactly cause for celebration, but it is a bit of a relief that we won’t have to bother defending this seat in November.
