Uncle Ted Does It Again
Is it really asking too much that a guy under federal investigation for taking bribes - of which he has been accused under oath - to get cut off in the earmark department? Not for anything, but it is absolutely appauling that Ted Stevens’ ethical problems have done little or no damage to his ability to tax and spend at will. I can only imaging how much the companies who received these contracts contributed to his campaign, and how little was done even to bother attempting to suggest that there was no connection between the contributions and the contracts.
Sen. Stevens is the epitome of the reason that we deserving lost both houses of Congress last year. He is perhaps the most fiscally irresponsibile Senator in history and thinks that taxpayer dollars should go toward nothing more than keeping him in office. Sarah Palin is doing an excellent job of cleaning up our house in Alaska. Now she needs to do the rest of us a favor and find someone to take out Senator Corruption. As nightmarish as it would be for the Democrats to pick up any more seats than they already will, Senator Stevens deserves to lose. If we can’t replace him in the primary, we deserve to lose the seat.
