Michigan Slips Away

Michigan Sen. Carl Levin has decided to seek another term.  Some Republicans may kid themselves that we have a shot at taking this seat, but Levin is safe.  All those who passed up the chance to take on Sen. Stabenow in hopes of Levin retiring may be kicking themselves now, as they will not defeat the incumbent.  Michigan was perhaps, with Georgia, the only state in which Republicans had a relatively favorable environment in which to run this year, yet both Dick DeVos and Mike Bouchard lost badly.  There is no reason at all to believe that Sen. Levin is any more vulnerable than Debbie Stabenow.
